Drills & Dowel Pins

The consumables: drills with stop collars, and dowel pins. Drill and collar sets are available in 1/4″, 5/16″, 3/8″ and 1/2″, and in 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm. A spare drill is worth having because the collar can be left set at a second depth — when drilling face joints in ¾ inch material with 1-1/2″ dowels the collar is typically set to drill 9/16″ into the face and 15/16″ into the opposing work piece. Dowel pins are sold in packages of 100 in 1/4 x 1-1/2, 5/16 x 1-1/2, 3/8 x 1-1/2, 3/8 x 2 and 1/2 x 2 inches, and in 10 mm x 40 mm.
